The Inter-Ministerial Consultation Session on Drafting Local Administration Law was Conducted in Kabul

KABUL Feb 18, 2020– The Inter-Ministerial Consultation Session on Drafting Local Administration Law was conducted in Kabul. The session was hosted by the Independent Directorate of Local Governance (IDLG) for 45 participants from different ministries. To this workshop, which was planned for one day, ministries representatives of Planning and Policy participated.

While opening the session Mr. Karimi Director of Planning and Policy IDLG remarked his pleasure and appreciated for these initiatives that meet the essential needs of local administration law, and added, “The general objective of the study was to examine the rule making, implementation and adjudication practices of administrative agencies, and evaluate the impact of judicial review on public administration, in order to contribute to enhancing the quality of governance in provinces.

The session further examined the data with respect to the governance outcomes of the current practices in the implementation of administrative law principles. In particular, the agenda focused on outcomes that appeared to be reflect the influence of the specificities of Afghanistan’s political, economic and social conditions. The program will cover the regions with a comprehensive review of all the relevant literature on administrative law and governance in Afghanistan.
