Independent Directorate of Local Governance IDLG with a consortium of five provincial governors, University professors, elders, CSOs, Provincial Council members and university students held the 8th National Dialogue on Sub-National Governance in Balkh for two days.
In the opening remarks provincial governor Balkh welcomed the delegation and delivered H.E President Ashraf Ghani’s remarks and briefed the delegation on the areas of discussion for the 8th National Dialogue on Sub-National Governance in Balkh.
IDLG head Mateen Bek in his speech at the 8th National Dialogue on Sub-National Governance said that, “Central Government is striving hard to shift focus to the provinces and districts and delegate authority to local administration so as to make the entire system transparent and faster.”
He also said that, “The Central Government has demonstrated a genuine commitment to enhance special economic zones development, delivery of public services, rule of law, improve human development indicators &light the path 4 peace &lead to an end to the war in #Afghanistan.”
The sub national governance conference was attended by high level authorities IDLG, provincial governors, ministry representatives, local authorities, youths, university teachers and CSOs and finished on 12 Dec 2019.
