Mrs. Attai during her speech added that, “Gender-based violence is one of the greatest blocks to development worldwide. Consequently, it is of highest priority for many development organizations and the afghan government. Across the country, some of the highest rates of gender violence are being reported – and in some of its most malicious forms such as workplace harassment, trafficking, acid attacks and prison rape. Ending gender-based violence requires a cohesive combination of effective laws, social policies and fundamental transformation of the beliefs and practices of institutions and individuals in Afghanistan.”
Mr. Khamosh said, “Awareness of women’s rights, women’s participation in public life, and women’s access to education and healthcare have increased significantly. Four primary factors statistically increase the incidence of peace & decrease the incidence conflict: expanded economic opportunities for women, expanded educational opportunities for children, reduction of violence against women, and the amelioration of unnecessary human despair.”
IDLG Afghanistan has zero tolerance for violence against women and sexual harassment in the workplace. IDLG is fully committed to enhance to end-violence against every woman and girl. It’s time for a healthy, safe & fair Afghanistan for everyone.
