Citizens’ Charter Priority Program CCNP Rural and Urban CDCs Consultative National Conference Kicked Off

The first Citizens’ Charter Priority Program CCNP Rural and Urban CDCs Consultative National conference inaugurated in Kabul province. Abdul Baqi Popal, Deputy Minister IDLG, addressing the participants underlined the importance of the conference and welcomed the participants to the press conference.

The conference was officially launched with the participation of 1700 including GIRoA high delegation Ministries of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, Finance, Education, Public Health, Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, IDLG, civil society and the media, and around 1400 Community Development Council’s representatives.

The conference conducted in accordance with pre-established procedures in biennial cycle, with the aim of reviewing the achievements and impacts of the Community Development Councils, assessing the challenges and taking decisions to effectively implement the CCNP program in the national level.

The Citizens’ Charter is an inter-ministerial effort by the Government of Afghanistan to make service delivery more effective and citizen-centric. Through this program, all Afghans are entitled to a basic package of services; which includes universal access to clean drinking water, quality education in government schools, delivery of the basic package of health services, and small-scale rural and urban infrastructure.
