Governor of Nangarhar Hayatullah Hayat Thursday laid foundation stones of two school buildings in Momandara and Shinwari districts.
School building in Torkham township will be constructed within four months with a cost of 34.5 million Afghanis will be having 18 classrooms, well and other facilities, while construction of a high school building in Shinwari district will cost 25 million Afghanis will be having ten classrooms, well, guards room and other facilities.
Besides governor of Nangarhar Hayatullah Hayat, provincial police commander, directors of economy, education, urban development, transport, hajj and auqaf, refugees and returnees, rural development and rehabilitation, red crescent, justice, public works, labor, social affairs, martyrs and disabled, counter narcotics, agriculture and livestock departments and district governors of Momandara, Rodat, Batikot and Ghanikhel participated in the foundation stone lying ceremony.
Addressing the ceremonies, Hayatullah Hayat expressed his pleasure over the construction of a school building in Torkham, said as per commitment of president Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, he laid the foundation of the school after a gap of forty years.
“Among other projects, Momandara district will get solar energy project, but provision of education facilities is a priority,” said Hayatullah Hayat.
Addressing the ceremony, Hasibullah Shinwari, provincial director of education said, they have planned to construct 190 school buildings and surrounding walls throughout the province, six school buildings will be constructed in Momandara district.
He called on the parents to enroll their children in schools and help in taking care of the school buildings.
Meanwhile, construction work of a two story building launched in Ghazi Mohammad Afzal Khan Shinwari high school in Shinwari district.
Addressing a ceremony, governor of Nangarhar Hayatullah Hayat said, as per commitment of president Mohammad Ashraf Ghani seven school buildings will be constructed in shinwari district.
